<reviewbody>The title says it all: hemp has high value - as a fiber crop. The issue of narcotics is not discussed (apart from noting that famers need a "marihuana growing" permit). While not endorsing the use of cannabis as a drug in any way, this film reflects interesting differences in cannabis public policy prior to the 1960s.</reviewbody>

    <reviewbody>The MPEG2 version seems to be cut short. I downloaded 100% but it's only 3:58 long.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I first downloaded the Mpeg2, but found it was cut very short. The Mpeg1 version is complete, and it's nice to have the sound in sinc finally. Very enjoyable film on what once was an important agricultural product, and hopefully will be in the future, once law enforcement realizes that industrial hemp and pot are mutually exclusive in the field, and there's a good chance that if given the opportunity to cross-pollinate, the high THC cannabis would tend to get diluted-- not good for business in the pot world. Of course, like in Canada and Europe, farmers would have to have a permit to buy seed and grow hemp, so again law enforcement would know who was growing the legal stuff anyway. With so many possibilities from one plant, it's high time (pun not intended) hemp was legalized.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I am in the middle of a project using industrial hemp as the main agricultural focus. This video is actually a very interesting one. I did want to comment on a couple of things the other reviews said though.

1. Hemp is a good screen to prevent cross-pollination of species and was used as such, so there would be very little "dilution" of higher THC crops with the lower THC variety. And if there was a significant chance of cross pollination, that would be a major problem for the farmers of industrial hemp, especially those using it for food stock, as hemp seeds and hemp oil are valuable as a food source as well as being a rich fiber source.

2. Industrial Hemp is legal to grow in the United States providing you have a permit from the DEA to grow it. Unfortunately, getting that permit is proving near impossible. North Dakota is fighting that battle currently as Hemp is certainly the crop of the future especially with the variety of uses and environmental benefits.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>How convenient for the DEA to allow American farmers to grow Hemp but only for the war effort. Just like corn, every part of the Hemp plant is useable. As pointed out above. Someday people will look back and ask, "What the hell were they thinking, Marijuana Prohibition, that's crazy!" tHANKS FOR THE FIXED VERSION.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Hemp is cool. This film is somewhat dull, yet informative.

Download the MPEG1 version only.

I made a version with closed captions and an interactive trancript. You can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZLC0f-C3PI

<reviewbody>It really is the only good version. Transcode it yourself if you need a different format.

The automatically-derived other versions of the file are not good. I don't know why. I only fixed the audio sync, I didn't derive all the other formats.</reviewbody>
